CURE CANCER AUSTRALIA FOUNDATION has directed over $13 million of vital seed funding to national cancer research. In 2010, Cure Cancer Australia will provide 16 one year grants of $90,000 each to young post-doctoral researchers with fresh approaches across all areas of cancer research including: lung, pancreatic, gastrointestinal, colorectal and breast cancers, melanoma, tumour growth and suppression, cancer genetics, antibody-based cancer therapy and more effective prevention for skin cancers.Cure Cancer Australia funded researchers are now amongst the top cancer researchers in Australia.
Without these funds many Australian scientists would have left the research field or not have had the chance to apply for further funding. Breakthroughs are being made everyday that help with early diagnosis and better treatments. As part of its Fundraising Arm, Cure Cancer Australia also has the incredibly successful Can Too program (www.cantoo.org.au) and Team Brett , the fundraising arm of The Brett Levien Sarcoma Cancer Foundation(www.teambrett.org.au) raising funds for cancer research.
Without research there can be no cure for this devastating disease. Thank you for your support!
